The Centre for Volunteering (the State Peak for Volunteering in NSW) has the following training opportunities currently available. We encourage anyone who is interested or involved in volunteering to explore these opportunities.

For new volunteers and jobseekers
Bridge to Volunteering – Introduction to Volunteering
A free, weekly workshop for new volunteers. Training runs on Fridays from 10:30am for 2 hours. The training is currently delivered as an online workshop over zoom, with some training to take place in the future face to face in The Rocks.

Statement of Attainment in Skills for Volunteering
Improve your employability with a Statement of Attainment in Skills for Volunteering!
Learn about Workplace Health and Safety, volunteering effectively, rights and responsibilities and volunteer at an organisation for 20 hours or more.
You may be eligible to enrol in this nationally recognised fee-free training if you are out of work, receiving an income support payment or aged 16–24.

Inclusive Volunteering Pathways to Employment program
If you are a person living with a disability or on a mental health recovery journey you can join this program which helps to reduce and remove barriers to volunteering and employment.
The program offers the following:
- One-on-one support for participants to identify their employment and other goals and to find volunteering opportunities that help to work towards these goals.
- Ongoing support to ensure the participant’s volunteering experience is meaningful and helping to achieve their goals.
- Support with resources and training for organisations to equip them with the skills and knowledge to reduce and remove barriers to involving volunteers living with disability.
- Inclusion training and support for organisations to improve their inclusion culture, practices and processes.

For leaders of volunteers
CHC44015 Certificate IV in the Coordination of Volunteer Programs
A specialist vocational qualification for volunteer leaders working in Australia.
It has been developed to deliver the knowledge and skills that are required when working as a volunteer coordinator or manager.
Course subsidies are currently available in NSW. Including fee-free training for certain job seekers, young people aged 16-24 and income support recipients.
