Former NSW Youth Advisory Council member Xian Zhi Soon was recently announced as The ACT Young Australian of the Year 2008. Zhi was a member of the Council between 2004 and 2006 and always showed commitment and dedication in promoting positive change in matters affecting young people. In 2005, at age 19, Zhi became the youngest member ever to have been appointed to the NSW Board of Studies. Amid his extensive list of achievements, Zhi has also been a member of the NSW Health Futures Strategic Advisory Council and the Children and Young People's Health Priority Taskforce.
