Cessnock Youth Entertainment Committee

Cessnock Youth Entertainment Committee is an awesome group of energetic young people who organize youth events and activities in their area. This year they have been flat-out with recording “NOCK ROCK” a compilation CD of young local bands, planning a regional tour with funding they have received from the Foundation of Young Australians as well as:

  • Hosting “Youth Fest” a youth week event in Cessnock with over 500 young people attending.
  • Volunteering at events such as Groovin the Moo (where not only did they get awesome practical event management experience but also got to meet artists such as Silverchair and Sneaky Sound System)
  • Took a trip to Barrington to do some strategic planning and team building
  • Started their own myspace to communicate, promote, research and network – check it out www.myspace.com/cyecenterprises
  • Successfully submitted a funding application to Artstart for sound training for the committee
  • As well as securing a PA & cubase so they can record their events live
  • Presenting at Conferences such as YAPA’s Youth Workers Conference

Their list of achievements goes on & on. Check out their myspace for more information www.myspace.com/cyecenterprises.
