Ways for young people to have a voice
- The NSW Youth Advisory Council advises the Government on issues of concern to young people (aged 12-24) in NSW; government policies relating to young people; and youth related programs.
- Student Representative Councils (SRCs) are groups of students in a school elected by their fellow students. SRCs are active in most state high schools in NSW, representing students in the school and organising ways for them to participate in school life.
- The NSW Commission for Children and Young People advocates for the children and young people of NSW. The Commission's site contains all sorts of information, including details of the Commission's Young People’s Reference Group.
- Rock Enrol is a joint initiative between Triple J and the Australian Electoral Commission to raise awareness of enrolling and voting, and encourage young Australians to enrol to vote.
- The National Youth Roundtable brings together 50 young Australians aged 15 to 24 to meet with the Federal Government to discuss issues that affect young people.
- Are you a young person living in the country with an experience or opinion about rural life that you want to share with Australia? ABC Radio National’s Bush Telegraph program wants to hear what life is like for young people living in rural and regional Australia. Email them your story of 450 words about what it’s like living in your part of rural Australia. The pieces may be funny, serious,topical, political or just about something that's irritating.
