- Young Tall Poppy (YTP) Science Awards is sponsored by the NSW Office for Science and Medical Research, the awards recognise the achievements of Australia's young scientific researchers across all scientific disciplines.
- The ABC's New Inventors: Bright Spark Award is presented by the television program The New Inventors, aired on ABC TV. The Award is issued on an annual basis at The New Inventors Grand Final show. Inventors aged 18 years or younger, who appear on the program with their invention, are eligible for the Award.

CREST – CREativity in Science and Technology Awards Program, run by the CSIRO, encourages and supports primary or high school students to undertake their own science or technology project. CREST is not a competition but a program which encourages students to gain skills by choosing a topic then by investigating and designing the project. The program can be offered to just one person or to the whole class as part of the curriculum. Students who complete a CREST project are rewarded with a certificate and at some levels a medallion from CSIRO. For more information, go to CSIRO.

Big Ideas Network is a website which is designed for young people to explore the world of ideas and innovation. The website features interviews from real artists and designers who explain what makes ideas valuable and why it is important to protect them. It also includes interactive learning games and resources for further exploration into innovation and intellectual property.

The Young Entrepreneur Program
run by Industry & Investment NSW encourages young people to pursue their innovative business ideas. The mentoring program is targeted at 18 to 30 year olds.
- The NSW Scientist of the Year Award is designed to promote the value of science and encourage science careers.
- Young Science Ambassador Scholarship program. This program is designed to assist students participating in the National Youth Science Forum to attend and present at overseas youth scientific forums and international study tours.
